An exhibit of work by each participating artist opens at the Upstairs on Friday, July 24 with a special preview party from 5 to 8 p.m. The party is open to the public, and most of the artists will be present. The exhibit continues through September 5.

Chairing Art Trek Tryon are Rob Linder, who is a member of the Upstairs&squo; board, and Wyndy Morehead, gallery manager. &dquo;We have planned Art Trek Tryon to benefit the entire community,&dquo; says Morehead. &dquo;First, there are so many wonderful artists living here who deserve exposure. And many businesses, such as restaurants and retail shops, will enjoy increased traffic.&dquo; &bsp;

Morehead points out that approximately 20 local businesses are helping to sponsor the event. She adds that the Upstairs hopes Art Trek Tryon will eventually attract several thousand visitors. &bsp;
