John English Jr.

Born June 10, 1925 in Duplin County, N.C., he was the son of the late J. Bert Sr. and Ludie Rouse English. Mr. English retired from Gibbs Welding and was a deacon at Faith Baptist Church in Mill Spring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Virginia English Outlaw; four brothers, Horace Caldwell English, Earl Williams English and William Billy English.
Surviving are two sons, Johnny Butler English (Rose Marie Humphries English) and Anthony Wade English, both of Spartanburg; four daughters, Wanda Levone English of Mill Spring, Janice Faye White (M. Stanley) of Boiling Springs, S.C., Susan Jane English of Forest City and Lori Renee English of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one brother, Edwin Fleet English of Sneads Ferry, N.C. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 in Faith Baptist Church, Mill Spring, with Rev. Tim Gouge officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by the Polk County Memorial Burial Squad.
