A resident of Fox Lake and formerly of Columbus, Mrs. Barnes was a retired teacher. While in Columbus, Marguerite was involved in the PEO, active in St. Luke&squo;s Hospital Women&squo;s Auxiliary and a member of the Garden Club.

Born June 1, 1921 in Clinton, Iowa, she was the beloved wife of the late Emmett Wing Barnes; loving mother of Harold (Kathy), Margie Mitchell, James (Elizabeth) and Beverly (Andrew) Brooks; cherished grandmother of Stephanie (Josh), Natalie, Ashley, Lori, Michael and Misty; devoted great‐grandmother of Conner; fond sister of Marian Benson.

Interment in Clinton, Iowa will be private.
