Audrey Anderson

Audrey and her husband, William Andersen, have resided in Tryon since 1988. Audrey was born in Katonah, N.Y., to Ella and David Malay. She had three sisters, Ella Raith, Jean Campisi and Edna Cordaro. Audrey married William Robert Andersen in 1951 and they had three children, Gail Andersen Kirkham, Robert William Andersen and Russell John Andersen. Audrey was predeceased by her son, Robert, parents and sisters, Ella and Edna.&bsp; Audrey&39;s husband William and son Russell continue to reside in Tryon. Gail resides with her husband, Thomas in Lindenhurst, Ill.

Audrey was loved by family and friends and will be missed dearly. During her life, in addition to raising a family, Audrey had careers as secretary, office manager and business owner.&bsp; Though busy, she always found time to volunteer with organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Tryon Presbyterian Church, Polk County Chamber of Commerce, The Second Hand Thrift Shop, Polk Vocational Services, Tryon Fine Arts Center, and she was a founding member of the Blue Ridge Barbeque Festival.

Her life will be honored and celebrated on Wednesday, April 2 at the Tryon Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m., with Dr. David Hosick, Rev. Ralph Kuether and Dr. James C. McPherson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, N.C. 28722.
